I loved the first weekend of mini sessions! We booked the day full of fun families and got some GREAT images! I loved our location, a Flinn Block retail space. It is a gorgeously redone space with amazing wood floors, nice lighting, great natural light and wonderful brick walls! We are gearing up for our next weekend of mini sessions...coming November 19th!

I have wanted to do a post on "what to wear" for quite some time. Your outfit can determine so much for your portrait session. This is not the time to just wing it. So what is my suggestion? First, keep it simple. Choose one bold, solid color and then add hints of it throughout the family. A shirt, necklace, hair bow, shoes or tie could all be done in shades of that color. Secondly, layer!!!

This sweet little girl is so much fun! I had such a good time getting down on her level. Its always fun to capture a few shots while a little one is just being themselves. The sun was so gorgeous! This was the first time I used this covered bridge for a session and I loved it! The lighting under the bridge was just amazing! I got to meet with Dan and Kerri and their little girl again last week. (Boy has she grown up.) She is such a cutie and she certainly knows just what she wants! It sure has been quiet around here lately. I have been editing sessions, shooting new sessions and speaking at a womens group in Albany. Not to mention the new dog we are adopting into our family. He is a 4 year old Beagle named Buddy. He is a pretty sweet dog, when he isn't busy chasing the cats. I have always said I am not an animal person but here I am with 2 cats and 2 dogs! Seriously! Wow, I am behind. I always hate to be behind..... :) But its a good feeling to get caught up. *At least I think it will be!* I am only one session behind now and its just 1 week old, so I am feeling pretty good. Last week I got to meet a sweet baby girl and her family. We were able to take a few shots, though she really didn't want to be put down. I met this sweet little boy on Saturday. He was 10 days old and so precious. I never got a boy of my own, but I might be happy to just photograph them! He was so sweet. We had some friends over for dinner and held an impromptu photo session with their little girl. She is growing up so fast...but she is such a sweetie. I loved holding her getting some smiles out of her. But as soon as her daddy was on the scene she was ALL smiles for him.
